Toxic workplace

i’m so done. work is literally killling me. it’s just stress on top of stress with like no breaks, no peace. the work vibes are toxic affff. people are constantly gossiping and throwing each other under the bus. everyone’s out for themselves and it’s like one big blame game and i’m just stuck in the middle of it. on top of that, my manager is so useless!! full of criticism but nothing constructive. i’m at a point where just going to work is an energy drain. i’m so burnt out but it’s peak season, can’t take leave. it’s honestly scary how much i’ve been spiralling and i’m thinking if it’s easier to quit… everything. i hate to even think that but i feel trapped. is it my fault? am i just not strong enough to handle this? is it normal to have office politics like this?

p.s. this is my first official job. before this, i did an internship but the company was nothing like this. maybe coz I was an intern then, wasn’t full aware of everything?

oh god this sounds like my first workplace. i’m so sorry youré stuck in that. office politics like that aren’t normal everywhere, it’s def a specific workplace thing, not a you problem. it sucks with it being your first job, it’s hard to know what to compare it to but trust me it’s the environment, not you.

maybe try focusing on what u can control like setting small boundaries or finding ways to chill outside of work and honestly, if it’s this bad, it’s okay to start thinking about other options. no one deserves to deal with that bs. hang in there :yellow_heart:

hey @rfbp, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. First of all, please know that it’s not your fault. Work environments like the one you described can be incredibly challenging and draining, and it’s not a reflection of your strength or capabilities.

Office politics and toxic vibes can happen in some workplaces, but that doesn’t make it okay or “normal.” It sounds like you’re doing your best to navigate a very difficult situation, and that’s already a huge testament to your resilience.

It might help to focus on small ways to protect your energy, like setting boundaries or finding moments to decompress outside of work. Since it’s peak season, are there small adjustments you can make to minimize interactions with the most toxic individuals?

It’s okay to think about other options when the time is right, no job is worth sacrificing your mental health. You deserve a supportive environment, and we’re here to help you through this. :orange_heart:
