I don’t even know where to start. I’ve been feeling so drained lately and it’s really getting to me.
I’ve got 2 kids as mentioned before but they both have health issues that need constant attention. the many doctor’s appointments, therapies, meds - it’s a lot! add work on top of that and i’m barely keeping up. i feel constantly anxious, my sleep is sh*t and it sucks coz I feel like I’m not doing enough for my family, my job or even myself. I love my kids, my husband and all and want to give them everything but I’m always so overwhelmed and tired and I feel like I’m falling apart. I also need to keep this job because it covers the insane medical bills. How can I keep going without falling apart? #wornoutmomof2
i don’t have kids so i don’t know what that’s like but sending you love and strength!!
hi @loveletterz thank you for sharing how you’re feeling—it takes a lot of strength to open up, especially when you’re carrying so much. juggling your kids’ health needs, work and everything else is incredibly demanding and it’s completely understandable that you’re feeling drained and overwhelmed.
firstly, please know that you’re doing an amaaazing job. the love and dedication you have for your family shine through and it’s okay to feel tired and stretched thin.
taking small steps to care for yourself, even when it feels impossible, can make a difference. could you carve out even 5-10 minutes a day just for you? whether it’s stepping outside for fresh air, doing a quick breathing exercise, or simply sitting quietly, those small moments can help recharge you, little by little.
it might also be helpful to talk to someone who can support you—whether that’s a therapist, a friend, or a support group of parents who understand what you’re going through. having a space to release your feelings without judgment can make a world of difference. there might be some support groups on facebook or online that you can check out and if you ever feel like you need someone to talk to, you can call our careline at 01548770410 or WhatsApp us at 01130116798. they’re here to listen and offer support whenever you need it.
you’re doing so much, and it’s okay to lean on others when you need to. you don’t have to do it all alone. keep going, one step at a time—you’ve already proven how strong and resilient you are.
Thank you.
Ah yes, I do try to make time for myself. I actually started therapy last week and for once, it’s just about me and no one else. It feels a bit selfish but you’re right maybe I need to find something small daily to replenish my energy. It’s just so exhausting. Thank you for the support, it means a lot.
